Real estate photo editing prices 2026: per-photo list prices compared
We read the public pricing pages of 6 real estate photo editing services on 25 October 2026 and converted every list price to US dollars per edited photo. A standard AI edit cost $0.32 to $1.92; a standard edit by human editors cost $1.50 to $2.25. Virtual staging showed the widest spread. ShotVista is one of the services compared, and it is not the cheapest for plain edits.
Key findings
- Standard edit (enhancement, HDR-style, single exposure): 11 price points from 5 services, from $0.32 (Fotello) to $2.25 (PhotoUp), a 7.03x spread; median $1.52.
- Virtual staging: 6 price points from 4 services, from $0.53 (Virtual Staging AI) to $30.00 (BoxBrownie), a 56.6x spread; median $3.59.
- Day to dusk / twilight: 2 price points from 2 services, from $1.56 (ShotVista) to $5.00 (BoxBrownie), a 3.21x spread; median $3.28.
- Volume commitments drive the lowest AI prices: the cheapest standard edits need 500 photos a month (AutoHDR) or 75 listings a month (Fotello).

Method
- On 25 October 2026 we opened the public pricing page of each service (linked in the table) and recorded every list price for a standard edit, virtual staging and day to dusk that the page states.
- Prices per photo are taken as stated, or calculated as plan price divided by the photos or credits the plan includes, or credits per edit times the stated credit price.
- For per-listing pricing (Fotello) we divided the listing price by the maximum photos per listing, which is the lowest possible per-photo price.
- ShotVista prices are calculated from its own plan prices and credit costs (1 credit per standard edit in 1K, 2 in 4K, 3 and 6 for virtual staging).
- The 25-photo listing cost is the per-photo price times 25.
Definitions
- Standard edit: the basic edited photo each service sells (image enhancement, single exposure, HDR or flambient edit, or an AI-edited photo).
- Virtual staging: adding furniture to an empty room photo.
- Day to dusk: turning a daytime exterior into a twilight image.
- AI or human: as each service describes its own editing.
Sample
19 price points from 6 services: ShotVista, AutoHDR, Fotello, PhotoUp, BoxBrownie and Virtual Staging AI. Services were chosen because they appear in ShotVista's alternatives pages or publish per-photo prices; services that do not show prices without a sales call were left out, and Imagen was left out because its pricing page refused our request on the day we checked.
Limitations
- List prices only. Discounts, taxes, coupons and enterprise contracts are not included.
- Prices change. Everything here was checked on one day and may be out of date when you read it.
- Output resolution, turnaround and revision policies differ between services and are not normalised; ShotVista is shown at 1K and 4K because its price depends on resolution.
- Pages showing "$" without a currency code were read as US dollars.
- Virtual Staging AI prices are the yearly-billing rates its page shows by default.
- Quality is not measured. A lower price per photo does not mean the same result.
- ShotVista publishes this study and is one of the services compared.
